Standards of Care PDF Print E-mail

ImageIn 2000, HIV Health Services began to develop a Quality Management Program for HIV/AIDS services in San Francisco. As part of this program, HIV Health Services and the HIV Health Services Planning Council (CARE Council) identified a need for service delivery standards in San Francisco. The intent of these “standards of care” was to establish minimum expectations for service delivery for CARE-funded programs in San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin counties.

Currently, HIV Health Services, in collaboration with Harder + Company Community Research, an independent consulting firm, has developed standards of care in the following categories:

  • Case Management
  • Complimentary Therapies
  • Dental
  • Housing
  • Mental Health
  • Peer Advocacy
  • Primary Care
  • Substance Abuse
  • Treatment Advocacy
