The Advocacy Project is a unique program in San Francisco that provides assistance to clients in filing a grievance with a service provider that is funded by Ryan White funds. The Advocate can assist clients in determining if they are eligible. The Advocacy Project can also help to resolve issues before they become grievances by mediating problems with the client and service provider. For further information, call 415-701-1200, ext. 322. Clients in San Francisco, Marin, and San Mateo counties are eligible for services.

In 2000, HIV Health Services began to develop a Quality Management Program for HIV/AIDS services in San Francisco. As part of this program, HIV Health Services and the HIV Health Services Planning Council (CARE Council) identified a need for service delivery standards in San Francisco.

All of the existing HHS standards of care were reviewed and evaluated by the HIV Health Services Planning Council over FY-2014-15, finalized in May of 2015, without any revisions required.
