Standards of Care
In 2000, HIV Health Services first developed a Quality Management Program for HIV/AIDS services in San Francisco. As part of this program, HIV Health Services and the HIV Health Services Planning Council (CARE Council) identified a need for service delivery standards in San Francisco. The purpose of these “standards of care” was to establish minimum expectations for service delivery for CARE-funded programs in San Francisco, San Mateo and Marin counties in accordance with HRSA-HAB federal guidelines.
The Standards of Care were updated in 2015 and again in 2024 jointly with the SF HIV Community Planning Council and HHS.
